Class #95 20-20-20 Tuesday 8:30 a.m. (Kat)

As the 20-20-20 name infers, this circuit training class is divided into three 20-minute segments. Leading our 20-20-20 class session this morning is Kat Hebert who also teaches several other circuit-oriented class sessions for PAC.

I arrived just as things were getting underway and I joined nine other participants in the carefully organized PAC Circuit Training room. Our first 20-mnutes of exercise was all about cardio work on steps and risers. My step background is limited and it was obvious my classmates were experienced "steppers". I was a bit lost during our step cardio segment and Kat's step move changes were happening quickly. I watched closely in order to keep up and I'm sure with a few more classes under my belt the step moves will become easier for me to handle. Our second 20-minute period was a blend of the same step exercises combined with the Strive weight machines. We performed 10 repetitions on a weight machine, then moved quickly back to our step benches for a couple of minutes of cardio work - eventually we made a complete trip around Strive machine circuit. The last 20-minute period was all about core exercise using a stability ball, a floor mat, and hand weights. I was right at home with the core work and I enjoyed some of the interesting stability ball variations. I'm convinced the stability ball is one of most versatile pieces of equipment around. You probably see them scattered around all of the PAC workout areas and there's good reason why - experts have developed stability exercises for almost all the muscle groups of the body.

I have one more 20-20-20 class to attend and I'm looking forward to giving this challenging Kat Hebert class another go. Kat is a great instructor, she's always well-organized and in her element when teaching in the PAC Circuit Training Room.

Thanks again Kat!
