Class #97 Aquacise Wednesday 8:00 a.m. (Tally)
This morning marks my final water exercise class as I approach the Find Fred finish line. Between Aquacise and Deep Water Running, we have 12 water exercise classes on the PAC Group Exercise schedule and I've enjoyed all 12. Tally Tissue was our instructor today and she was in the midst of teaching three consecutive water classes. I'm here to tell you, that's a challenging exercise endeavor. As always, Tally did a splendid job with our Aquacise group and she always makes us feel welcomed. We enjoyed wonderful weather conditions today. There was some welcomed cloud cover and the water felt outstanding after some sorely needed rain the past few days. Tally started us off with 30 minutes of cardio drills, followed by 10 minutes of water step aerobics. It's a really interesting change, performing step exercises in the water. Gravity doesn't provide the assistance it does on dry land and you have to work hard to complete step movements. The exercise movement is slower but more challenging at the same time. The final segment of class was all about floating with the aid of a water noodle or floatation belt. We execute exercises without the benefit of having our feet touching the bottom of the pool. Definitely more challenging! I'm totally sold on the benefits of water exercise. We all know it's great if you have orthopedic issues. The extra resistance provided by water can also ramp-up the intensity level for a well-conditioned athlete. I challenge all PAC members to give Aquacise and/or Deep Water Running a try. This morning's PAC gift card winner is Elayna Cross. Participation Honor Roll: Elayna Cross (gift card winner) Valerie Griffitt Becky Maloney Kim Cole Alice Havrylkoff Margaret Roussell Ellen Winchell Jeanne Brady Heather Sjue
