Class #83 Spinning Saturday 10:00 a.m. (Michelle)

At the risk of experiencing a "metabolic meltdown", I decided to try two Spinning classes in the same morning. I enjoyed a nice Pilates class in between the two Spinning sessions and I made sure to have a quick snack before heading back into the Spinning Studio.

Leading my second Spinning class is Michelle Chunn. Michelle is one of our newer Spinning instructors and I love her enthusiasm and excellent class preparation. I'm a music lover and I appreciate how she designs her class with just the right kind of music. It's apparent to me that Michelle really puts a lot of prep work into each of her classes - having fun is mandatory. She also teaches Spinning on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

There's a nice turnout for class this morning and I strategically situate myself in one of the far corners of the Studio. This being my third class of the morning, I pity the poor Spinning participant who might be downwind of my location. I was definitely tired throughout class, but I made sure not to push the pickups too hard.

We did a lot of jump segments this morning, both short and long in duration. Jumps are simply moving out of the saddle into the upright position for a few leg rotations, than back down into the saddle. Michelle is a master of music selection and she picked tunes with the perfect beat for jumps.

Towards the end of class we did some longer intervals and I was clearly running on empty. I noticed my form starting to deteriorate a few times, but I thankfully made it to the end of class. It's time for a nap.

Great class Michelle!
